Usually, I’d be inclined to agree with you, however someone mentioned that it’s less than 100 days until Christmas to me the other day, which really isn’t long! If you’re like me and like to be prepared – here are some great ideas/offers for the tech-loving woman in your life!

Gifts for different budgets
We all love to splurge at Christmas, it’s human nature to want to buy the biggest, best and most extravagant gifts. Sometimes, though, life takes over and we don’t always have as much money as we may want or need. Having just bought our first house, my wife and I are going to have to be a little stricter with our wallets this Christmas.
Gifts are entirely subjective, so I’ve tried to keep this list relatively generic – therefore whether you’re shopping for your wife, girlfriend, mother, sister, daughter, best friend – hopefully there’s something on the list to suit 🙂

A portable power bank
Power banks are incredibly useful pieces of kit, but nobody wants to be lugging a large, heavy battery around in their handbag regardless of whether it’s useful or not – especially if the person you’re buying for is anything like my wife, who seems to have everything she owns in her handbag!
Based on this, I’d advise getting a slim, lightweight powerbank such as the Iceworks 3000 (UK/US – similar product). There’s no need to carry around cables either with this product, as it’s built right in! 3000mAh isn’t much, but it’ll keep you topped up in a pinch!

Bluetooth speaker (for the shower)
I’ve been meaning to review the TaoTronics shower speaker (UK/US – similar product) for quite some time, as it’s something that has blended into our daily life and gets a lot of usage. This little speaker has incredible sound quality and can be placed exactly where you want it – in your shower! You can get these little speakers in a variety of colours, either to blend in with your general decor or to suit your special lady’s colour tastes!
I have been absolutely blown away by the volume, quality and general compactness that this product offers. In all honesty – I use this more than my wife 😉

Fitness tracker
Fitness trackers are great for both active and in-active people. They provide a wealth of information about your general healthiness and daily activity. Not only that, but every woman/girl I’ve ever spoken to has always at some point mentioned getting healthier or getting fitter (not to generalise – that’s just my experience!).
Fitness trackers have been getting cheaper and cheaper, whilst cramming more and more tech into them. They’ve also been getting slightly more attractive, which is definitely an added bonus.

Electric toothbrush
This one could go down one of two ways – it’s the same sort of concept as giving someone fragrances as a present. If you’re willing to risk it though, there are some great, stylish electric toothbrushes now readily available on the market and at a decent price! Take the Uber Sonic toothbrush for example: This toothbrush has won all sorts of awards for its design (such as the Red Dot Design Awards in 2016) and you can really see why. This toothbrush will cost you only £19, is constructed out of anodised aluminium (similar material to an iPhone), operates at around 35,000 vibrations per minute and replacement heads cost you only £9 every two months (a.k.a roughly £1/week).

Amazon Echo Dot
This is a great gift for anyone and comes in at spot on £50 (although offers seem to be regularly cropping up at the moment). The 2nd gen Echo Dot (UK/US) is an impressive home assistant, connecting to any smart home tech you may already have, or can simply act as a glorified and lazy search engine (we’ve all been there). You can even connect it up to your bluetooth shower speaker (mentioned above – something I’m now thinking of doing as sometimes back, forwards and play/pause aren’t enough) or splash out and connect it to a speaker in a more public area of your house (see below)!

Bluetooth speaker (NOT for the shower)
I cannot recommend the DOSS SoundBox (UK/US) enough. I reviewed it relatively recently (you can read the full review here) and it comes in an array of colour options. I purchased the “Matte Black” coloured speaker (UK / US), but the Soundbox is also available in “Pearl White” (UK / US), “Ocean Blue” (UK / US) and “Passion Red” (UK / US) – so there should be a colour to suit whoever you happen to be buying for! It has some interesting/qwerky features as well, which makes for a great present, such as the touch controls on top of the speaker.

Google Chromecast Ultra
The Google Chromecast Ultra is the latest generation of Chromecast devices available for purchase. Coming in at around £70/$70, it’s by no means cheap. However, if you’re looking for a way to stream 4k content from your phone, or display your holiday photos via your TV from your laptop/tablet/phone – then this is the quickest and easiest way to go. Available via Google directly (and other retailers), this is a bit of a no-brainer for anyone who is regularly sharing content with groups of people.

Magnitone vibrating face brush
Like an electric toothbrush for your face, the Magnitone is designed to scrub your face quickly and efficiently, without the need for you to manually rub and scrub your face. I’m, personally, not one for maintaining a decent face-washing routine, however my wife swears by hers and if you trust the internet, so do a LOT of other women (just search YouTube for “face routine” and you get over 9 million results).

Furbo pet camera & treat dispenser
Obviously, this gift is only applicable if you have a pet that is out and about and gets treats (likely a dog, but possibly also a cat) and is something I’ll be looking at for my wife this Christmas as she always worries about our dog and two cats whilst we’re at work. The Furbo (UK/US) allows you to keep an eye on your pet in Full HD while you’re away from home, whilst also still interacting with it via two-way communication (speaker and microphone built in to the unit) as well as launching a treat remotely! Make sure you keep the Furbo relatively out of reach of your dog though – as soon as they realise the treats are stockpiled in there, it may not be worth waiting for another to ping out! 🙂

Instant camera
As it turns out, instant cameras are still around and thriving! If the person you’re buying for loves photography or is simply nostalgic/a hipster, then the Leica Sofort may be a perfect present for her. Whilst there are cheaper options available, the Leica will bring you great quality pictures, impeccable build quality and instant print out of that perfect memory, caught on film forever.
Not only that, but if the person you’re buying for is looking to get into photography and wants to learn how to control a camera properly, film is a great way to start. It can be as simple as point-and-shoot, but once you start using the camera and it’s various functionalities properly (tweaking exposure, ISO etc.), you can get some incredible shots and gain experience to take on to higher-end cameras.

It’s something that’s really easy for us all to forget once we get wrapped up in the Christmas chaos, but Christmas isn’t only about the presents you give and receive – it’s about the time you spend with the people you love. Whilst it’s a great feeling to be able to buy a person the thing they want, it’s even better to be able to look back and remember amazing and happy times! Things break, gifts get replaced, people come and go in life – make the most of the time you get with the people you love!
